In our 37th issue (June 2026), we were excited to present the winners of our Sixth annual NORward Prizes: Ava Moreci’s essay “Room 5A Supply Closet 14A”; Margaret Byrne’s story “A Crack in the Glass”; and Nick Norwood’s poem “Why She Won’t Have Wire Clothes Hangers in Our House.” Congratulations also to Gordon Taylor, who won the second annual Ellis Prize for Poetry with the poem, “Dear Attention,” selected by Brad Aaron Modlin. We hope you enjoy their work.
We also included our “On Poets Onscreen” feature, in which ten writers engaged with versifying characters in works by Wenders, Tarkovsky, Linklater, Branagh, and Lee Chang-dong, among other directors. Thanks to guest assistant editors, Michael Lavers and Lilia Santeramo.
